BENGALURU: White-topping was done on the Outer Ring Road two or three years ago with the intention that it would keep the road pothole-free for a long time.
But the white‑topping was peeling off in places, creating potholes due to Metro construction, and the GBA left it as is without properly covering them. On the route from Nagawara to Hebbal, the GBA has now put asphalt over the white‑topped road to fill potholes, three days ago.
Local residents say that the GBA officials should have basic knowledge that asphalting over a white‑topped road is not the right way. When a concrete road is damaged, it should be repaired with cement, not asphalt, but the GBA has done a shoddy job by using asphalt, they pointed out.

Vehicle owners are fed up by poor roads and are cursing the government for wasting people’s tax money instead of improving them, wondering why such shoddy work is being done.
