BENGALURU: Residents of Mittaganahalli in Kannur on Wednesday blocked BBMP garbage trucks in protest unscientific waste disposal methods.
The locals alleged that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) was mixing medical and animal waste, sparking outrage. Recently, a dead woman’s body also found in the dump yard.
In response to the protests, garbage disposal has been halted, leaving the trucks stranded. The locals have also written to Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh about the problem.
