BENGALURU: The Madanayakanahalli police have arrested three suspects in connection with a robbery at a jewellery store with only a toy gun in Madanayakanahalli in Bengaluru.
The accused, identified as Mohammed Rafiq, Mohammed Ibtekhar and Ramshad, were part of a gang that had been involved in over 50 cases of robbery and theft across Bengaluru city, rural areas and other districts in Karnataka. They hailed from Udupi, Mangaluru and Odisha.
On June 25, the gang had robbed a jewellery shop on Magadi Road, Machohalli, making off with 90 grams of gold jewellery worth approximately Rs 30 lakh. The accused had used a plastic gun to intimidate the shop owners and escape with the loot in two cars.
The police are now on the lookout for the accused who were part of the robbery.
