BELAGAVI: Villagers and students of Gajapati staged a protest by blocking the road on Monday morning, demanding proper bus services.
Students are facing transportation problems every day as they have to leave for college at 8.30 am. Only two buses are plying from Mugaligala, Bidi village to Belagavi via Parishwada, they noted.
It is alleged that buses do not stop at Gajapati village due to overcrowding of passengers. The villagers had appealed to the authorities concerned many times, but no action was taken. Enraged by the unavailability of bus service, the villagers protested by blocking the bus and demanding that additional buses be provided for the village.
The Hirebagewadi police visited the place and tried to convince them.
