BALLARI: A four-year-old boy, who was missing from his house for two days, was found dead in an unused open well, at Ravihal village in Siruguppa taluk on Friday evening.
The boy, Siri, son of Veeresh of the village, suddenly went missing from his house on Thursday. The family and other villagers conducted a search, but could not find Siri.
On Friday evening, some villagers noticed the body of a child floating in the well. When it was pulled out, the parents identified Siri. It is suspected that he may have fallen into the open well while playing.
Villagers pointed out that the well lacks a parapet wall and cover and added that despite the local MLA directing the officials, no steps had been taken.
