MYSURU: Four tiger cubs, which were rescued in Hunsur taluk a few days ago, have died at the Koorgalli Rehabilitation Centre. The cubs, which were separated from their mother, were found near Gowdanakatte and were being cared for at the centre.
The cubs, aged around 4-5 months, were suffering from dehydration and malnutrition, and were not feeding properly. Despite receiving treatment, they succumbed to their condition over the past four days.
The post-mortem report is awaited, and the visceral samples have been sent to a laboratory in Bengaluru for further examination. The mother tiger, who was also captured, is reported to be healthy.
The Forest department has remained tight-lipped about the incident, with officials refusing to comment on the matter. The cubs were rescued on November 28 and 30.
