Four of family killed in car crash in Haveri

HAVERI: Four people of a family died in a road accident under the Tadasa PS limit near Belligatti village in Haveri district. Two people died on the spot, while the other two passed away at the KIMS hospital in Hubballi.

The victims were identified as Chandramma (59), her daughter Meena (38), Meena’s husband Mahesh Kumar (41), and their son Dhanveer (11), all from Chamarajapete.

The accident happened on National Highway 48 when a white Mahindra XUV 700 car, traveling from Haveri to Hubballi, lost control and collided with a Tata Altroz car coming from the opposite direction.

Additional Superintendent of Police,  Haveri, Anshukumar informed that a white vehicle going towards Hubballi lost control and jumped the divider and collided with a red vehicle coming from Hubbali and going towards Bengaluru near Haveri-Dharwar border.

There were four persons in the red vehicle including one child of 10-12 years old, all of them died in the accident. Two persons died on the spot and two persons were declared dead at the KIMS hospital Hubballi.More details are awaited.
