CHIKKABALLABUR, BELAGAVI: Amid the rising Covid-19 cases, four fresh cases were reported in Chikkaballapur while one was reported in Belagavi on Friday.
According to Chikkaballapur district health officer Mahesh Kumar, four people, including two pregnant women, have tested positive in the district. This includes one pregnant woman each in Gouribidanur and Bagepalli, one each in Chintamani and Chikkaballapur.
While the pregnant woman in Gouribidanur has been admitted to hospital, the three others have recovered, the DHO said. “Given the cloudy weather, cases of fever, cough and cold are common, but it is better to consult a doctor rather than self-medicate. People can take precautions by wearing masks”, he said.
In Belagavi district, the number of Covid-positive cases has risen to four with a 72-year-old patient at a private hospital testing positive.
On Thursday, a 70-year-old patient with breathing difficulties had died at BIMS without responding to treatment. With this, Belagavi district has three active cases with one death.
