Four men assault coffee shop staffer in Seshadripuram over extra cup, one arrested

BENGALURU: One person was arrested on Thursday after a group of four men thrashed a staffer at the Namma Filter Coffee cafe in Seshadripuram on Wednesday evening. The police are on the lookout for the other accused.

Around 6.50 pm on Wednesday, four men, who had gone to the cafe, thrashed a staffer after he refused to give them an extra coffee cup. The men abused the staffer in foul language, thrashed and kicked him after he said it was against their policy to hand out extra coffee cups.

After CCTV video of the attack was widely shared on social media DCP Akshay M Hakay said a case has been registered at the Seshadripuram police station. “We have arrested one person and are questioning him. The attack happened after one of the staffers refused to hand out an extra coffee cup. The staffers at th coffee shop could not identify the other accused, but we will arrest them soon”.
