Four dead, three seriously injured after bike rams into pedestrians in Muddebihal village

VIJAYAPURA: Four men died and three were seriously injured after a motorcycle rammed into pedestrians on the outskirts of Kuntoji village in Muddebihal taluk of the district on Thursday night.

The incident occurred when pedestrians, who had come to participate in a fair, were crossing the road to use the washroom. The deceased have been identified as Anil Khainur (23), Chowdki (22), Kumar Pyati (18) and Rayappa Bagewadi (24).

Two pedestrians and two bikers lost their lives in the accident, while three others sustained serious injuries. The incident happened at 11 pm last night.  While three people died on the spot, another person died in a hospital.

Shahid Hunagund, Prashant Kurubagowda and Hanumant Karubagowda have been admitted to a private hospital in Bagalkot with serious injuries and being treated in Bagalkot. A case has been registered at the Muddebihal police station.
