MYSURU, KARWAR, CHITRADURGA: Four people died and several others were injured after three KSRTC buses and a NWKRTC bus were involved in accidents in Mysuru and Karwar.
Four people, including a jeep driver, were killed with it collided with a KSRTC bus near Ayyappa hill in Hunsur on Tuesday. The other deceased are believed to be labourers and the jeep was coming from HD Kote. The Hunsur police visited the spot and registered a case.
A KSRTC bus rammed into another bus near the Jaladarshini Government Guest House in Mysuru city, leaving many passengers injured. According to one of the passengers, the driver of one bus braked hard to avoid a two-wheeler rider who cut across the road when another bus rammed it from behind.
Many passengers sustained injuries after the rear axle of a NWKRTC bus gave way on the Habbuvada road in Karwar on Tuesday. There were about 50 passengers on the bus when the incident occurred.
The bus was on its way to Keravadi village when then its rear axle broke and it almost toppled over. Locals helped stop the bus from toppling over and rescued the passengers.
Some students sustained injuries when the school bus they were travelling in overturned near Mallappanahalli in Hosadurga taluk of Chitradurga district on Tuesday morning.
The bus was carrying about 15 students at that time and was going around picking up children when the driver lost control and it overturned. The injured children were admitted to a hospital in Hosadurga and the Hosadurga police have registered a case.
