HASSAN: Four among a group of five children died after drowning in a lake where they had gone for a swim at Thimmanahalli vilalge in Aluk taluk on Thursday. The Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot to fish out the bodies.
The deceased were identified as Jeevan (13), Satwik (11), Vishwa (12) and Pruthvi (12). The lone survivor was Chirag (10). They had gone for a swim in the lake as schools are closed for summer vacation.
As soon as the four started drowning, Chirag swam to the shore and alerted some locals. But, by the time they could act, the four boys had drowned. The incident occurred in Alur police limits.
