TUMAKURU: The Gubbi police have arrested four people who attempted to murder a man who was riding a two-wheeler on August 21 near the taluk office here. They are on the lookout for the others involved in the case.
The arrested are Srinivas a.k.a. Delhi Seena, Nagaraju, Dushyanth and Darshan. They had tried to kill Manoj (29), the son of a slain Dalit Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) leader, but Manoj luckily escaped. The attackers had come in an SUV while Manoj was riding a scooter.
Manoj’s father Narasimhamurthy a.k.a Kuri Murthy was murdered two years ago in broad daylight on BH Road in Gubbi over a financial dispute. After the attempted murder on him, Manoj had lodged a complaint with the Gubbi police.
Police suspect that the attack may have been due to previous rivalry and are on the lookout for others involved in the case.
