BENGALURU: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested three people, including a former constable with the City Armed Reserve (CAR) for duping several people in a rice pulling scam. The arrested are Natesh, the former constable, Venkatesh and Somashekar.

The trio allegedly used to dupe people in several parts of the state, including Bengaluru, by taking money from them on the promise of providing ‘rice pulling’ devices. The police have recovered Rs 28 lakh in cash and three luxury cars from them. The Halasuru Gate police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.

Natesh joined as police constable in 2007 and had himself been duped in a rice pulling scam. He then quit his job and got into the real estate business. Later, he joined hands with scamsters and got into duping people.
