CHIKKABALLAPUR: Former Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar alleged that supporters of Congress MLA Pradeep Eshwar allegedly assaulted his supporter Santosh Raju. The BJP leader has filed complaint against the accused in the police station for the alleged assault and death threats.

Sudhakar and his supporters staged a protest in front of the SP’s office condemning the act and raised slogans against MLA Pradeep Eshwar. Sudhakar complained to Chikkaballapur SP D L Nagesh and c case has been filed against Gangaraju, Dance Srinivas, Vinay Bangari, Manchanabale Devaraju, Lakshmaiah and Srinivas for the alleged assault and death threats.

Speaking outside the SP’s office, Sudhakar challenged MLA, Pradeep to resign, leave the Congress party and contest as an Independent candidate while promising that he too would contest as an independent candidate.

Sudhakar challenged the sitting MLA saying, “Let’s see how many votes we will get. I showed my strength by resigning in one year and winning where there was no BJP support. Now, it’s your turn. You will not get even 5,000 votes for your face”.

To a query on the alleged corruption in the construction of a medical college and the Congress government’s plan to conduct an SIT probe into the irregularities, Dr K Sudhakar attacked the government and said, “If I have done something illegal, I should be punished. Are they going to stay in the same seat forever? Politics of hate is not good. We never did it. Yediyurappa and Bommai are good people. They never followed hate politics, though they were under pressure. Let’s go with the probe, as they have already set up an SIT and appointed a judge. Le them look into any irregularities and see if the government has taken an illegal decision. But don’t punish students”.

“It has been two years since the students started pursuing their studies at the government medical college. We had already started nursing courses at the government college. Let’s pay up the contractors and take possession of the building”, he added.

Referring to the brutal murder of a Jain monk, the former minister said such a thing has never happened before in the country. “Karnataka is gaining infamy for such incidents. It gives us a picture  of the the law and order situation in the state. The Congress will complete six months in power in October. On that day, I will talk about how this government came to power”, he remarked.
