Former minister Byrathi Basavaraj named accused No. 5 in rowdy murder case

BENGALURU: The city police are conducting a thorough investigation into the murder of notorious history sheeter Biklu Shiva, focusing on the relationship between accused former minister Byrathi Basavaraj, Jagadish alias Jagga and Kiran.

The police have found that the accused have been in close contact for over 10 years, with Jagga being a close associate of Byrathi Basavaraj. They have also discovered that Jagga has been involved in several civil cases and land disputes and has helped Byrathi Basavaraj in settling disputes.

Jagadish alias Jagga is a known history-sheeter with cases registered against him in several police stations, including Hennur, Indiranagar and Bharatiya Nagar. He is known to have been involved in various criminal activities with Byrathi Basavaraj for several years. The police are now investigating the history of the accused, including the number of cases filed against them and their involvement in various crimes.

The police have also found that Jagga had obtained a stay on an FIR filed against him and Byrathi Basavaraj in a land dispute case in Avalahalli police station limits. The FIR was filed by Biklu Shiva at Bharatiya Nagar police station, and Jagga had obtained a stay on it through the court. Interestingly, Jagga has been involved in vacating his house before committing a crime, and he had done so in this case as well.

The police have also arrested Kiran, who is believed to be an associate of Jagga, and are currently investigating his role in the murder. Kiran, who was caught by the police while escaping with his wife before the murder of Biklu Shiva and Kiran.

Byrathi Basavaraj, reacting to being named in the case, said he does not know about the incident. “I do not know them. I will fight the case legally and appeal to the Home Minister to discuss it. I have no connection to this case”, he told Public TV.

“I worked as an MLA working for my constituency with all respect. I have distanced myself from real estate and land development issues after becoming an MLA. There’s a political vendetta behind this. The police should have informed me before registering the FIR. I’ll fight the case legally. The arrested individuals are not my supporters”, said Byrathi Basavaraj.
