DAVANAGERE: Former Congress MLA from Davangere, Yajaman Moti Veeranna (90), passed away after prolonged illness. He was a well-known figure in the region and had served as an MLA from the Davangere constituency in 1989.
Moti Veeranna was a close associate of former Chief Minister Veerendra Patil and had been involved in politics for many years. He had also worked with the Youth Congress and was a respected leader in the community.
He is survived by two sons, including film producer Moti Rajendra, and a daughter. His body was kept at his residence in Davangere for public viewing, and his funeral was held at the Moti Trust premises on Hadadi Road, as per Veerashaiva-Lingayat tradition on Saturday.
