Former Congress MLA Narayan dies at 81

TUMAKURU: Former MLA representing Bellavi, R Narayan (81), died due to age-related illnesses on Thursday. He was undergoing treatment at the Siddaganga hospital.

Narayan had represented Bellavi on a Congress ticket. He had served two terms as legislative council member. During S M Krishna’s term as chief minister, Narayan was responsible for notable work as chairman of the Karnataka Housing Board.

The mortal remains were kept for public viewing till noon and the last rites were conducted later in the day.
