BEGALURU: The state government has made it mandatory for filmmakers to obtain permission before shooting in forest areas. Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre has given clear instructions to Additional Chief secretary of the Forest Department in this regard.
Minister Khandre has issued a directive to ensure that filmmakers obtain permission from the government before documentary shoots and serial shooting in forest areas.
Currently, filmmakers pay a fee to obtain permission from local authorities. There is a possibility that confidential information of the forest area will be available to the outside world. This will also harm the environment and biodiversity.
The minister has noted that this can lead to unauthorized filming and compromise the security of the forest. In order to protect the forests and wildlife and hand over a better environment and nature for the future generations, the minister has instructed to issue an appropriate order to make it mandatory to obtain permission from the government for any type of filming in any forest area of the state.
