DAVANAGERE: Unidentified miscreants slashed flexes featuring Lord Rama, Anjaneya, Narasimha and Goddess Durga with blades in Davangere city. The banners were put up for the Dasara Mahotsava procession at Venkateshwara Circle on Betthur Road in the city.

Hindu activists have demanded action against the miscreants for allegedly trying to disrupt communal harmony. The police have registered a case and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprits.

Hindu activists have demanded strict action against the vandals for hurting their religious sentiments. A similar incident had occurred at the same location earlier, where a banner with the phrase ‘I Love Muhammad’ had sparked a clash.
