BENGALURU: The flavours of the ‘Gandadagudi’ food fest will be held in memory of the late actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s love for food in various restaurants of the city.
In keeping with the late actor Puneeth Raj Kumar’s love for food, the Raj Donne Biriyani Mane is all set for a food fest, and the main menu of the restaurant will include the actor’s favourite foods, biriyani and mutton chops. The restaurant has also been decorated in memory of the actor.
Puneeth Rajkumar’s favourite dish is ready for fans as part of the festival at Gandhinagar’s Navayuga Hotel. Demand is also high for the actor’s favourite dishes such as mutton chops, mutton biryani and chilli chicken. According to the hotel owner, customers who visit the hotel also ask for the actor’s favourite food and eat it.
The Flavours of Gandadagudi fest at Palace Donne Biryani Hotel in Jayanagar served food from Appu’s favourite menu to its customers, and a card with the actor’s autograph was given to those who ordered food from the special menu.
As part of the fest, Raghu’s Kitchen in Mahalakshmi Layout has offered one biryani free with another. Appu’s favourite menu festival is going on for 15 days. The Kundapura style of fish dish will also be served to customers.
The Gandhadagudi pre-release event, ‘Puneeth Parva’, was held at the Palace Grounds on Friday at 6.30 pm. More than five lakh fans of the late actor participated in the event. The late actors’ posters had been put up around the stage.
There was a dance performance by Sandalwood artistes, which lasted for about four-and -half hours. Many actors and actresses, including Shivarajkumar, Dance King Prabhudeva and ‘Mohaka Taare’ Ramya, paid homage to Appu through dance. Celebrities from various film industries also attended the event.
Singers including Armaan Mallik, Vijay Prakash and Gurukiran sang the actors’ songs. About 30,000 seats had been arranged. Food was be served to around 40,000-50,000 of the actors’ fans at Palace Grounds. The actor’s fans from various districts were seen wearing white shirts, which was his favourite colour.
The movie Gandadagudi is a docu-drama and also the late actor’s dream project. It is all set for a grand release on October 28.
