Locals rescued the boy after chasing away the dogs. With severe injuries, Sai Anvesh was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

Residents have raised concerns about the growing number of stray dogs in the area, citing previous incidents and ineffective measures by the municipal corporation. The incident has sparked outrage, with people demanding action from the civic authorities to control the street dog population. Residents claim to have lodged multiple complaints with the municipal corporation, but no significant action has been taken.

The boy’s mother Akkamahadevi Vanalli said, “Around 9.30 am on Monday, Sai Anvesh was playing outside the house. Two dogs first grabbed him and four more joined later. Some locals pelted stones at the dogs and rescued my son. We immediately brought him to a hospital. He has sustained severe wounds in the neck, hands and legs. He is now undergoing treatment. What happened to my son should not happen to others”.

Councillor Rajashekar Kuriyor said, “About 8-10 dogs attacked the boy for about 100 metres. We have brought the attention to the attention of the mayor and corporation commissioner. Tenders have not been called, but some measures have to be taken to control the stray dog menace. The boy was lucky to stay alive”.
