KOLAR: Five people of a family from Bengaluru died after the car they were travelling in crashed into the rear of a container truck on the national highway near Kanipakam Thotapalli in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday. The impact of the crash was such that the roof of the car was completely ripped apart.
The family was returning to Bengaluru from Tirupati after visiting the Balaji temple when the accident occurred. The deceased included two men, two women and a child. However, their identities were yet to be established.
The Pakala police visited the spot and cleared the mangled remains of the car with the help of cranes. The bodies were shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination. The Pakala police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
