CHITRADURGA: Five people died on the spot in a ghastly accident between a Toyota Innova MUV and a lorry on the Davanagere-Chitradurga ring road, near a hotel in Seebara village.
The deceased were identified as Shantamurthy (50), a retired BMTC employee from Bengaluru, Rudraswamy (52) from Vidyaranyapura; and Mallikarjun (50) from Eeranna Layout, Bengaluru. Two others also died in the accident, while one person is critically injured and has been admitted to the district hospital.
The Chitradurga Rural police have visited the accident place and registered a case. It is believed that the accident took place when the car was returning from the Renuka Yellamma temple in Saudatti, as prasada from the temple was found in the car.
