Five dead, five injured after two goods vehicles collide

The accidents occurred when the victims were returning from the Sindhanur sheep fair.

RAICHUR: Five people died and five others were injured after a head-on collision between two goods vehicles in Sindhanur taluk on Tuesday night.

The accident occurred near Budiwal Cross in Sindhanur taluk when the victims were returning after buying sheep from the Sindhanur sheep fair.

The deceased hailed from Andhra Pradesh and Siraguppa. The deceased have been identified as Yerakula Mallaiah (50), Mahanandi (28), Giri (26), Sanna Yellaiah (40) and Ranganath (12).

The injured are being treated at Sindhanur taluk hospital, with three sheep also killed in the accident. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

The families of the deceased are demanding government assistance and compensation for the victims, as well as coverage of medical expenses for the injured.
