Five cows burnt alive in shed after fire breaks out in plywood shop in DJ Halli

BENGALURU: Five cows were burnt alive and several others were injured after a devastating fire broke out at a cowshed near Shampura Road in DJ Halli in the wee hours on Tuesday. The fire, which broke out around 1.45 am in an adjacent plywood shop, spread to the cowshed, engulfing it in flames.

The cowshed had 19 cows, and locals managed to rescue 14 of them. However, five cows were trapped and died in the fire. The fire also damaged five two-wheelers and a Tata Ace goods vehicle. The owner, Srinivas, has lost six cows in the incident, and three cows are injured.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The injured cows are receiving treatment. Fire tenders were deployed to control the blaze, and the blaze was eventually brought under control. The DJ Halli police are investigating the incident.
