Fire breaks out in house during wee hours in Nandagad, family has lucky escape

BELAGAVI: A house was gutted in an accidental fire at Nandagad in Khanapur taluk in the wee hours on Monday. Luckily, the residents of the house managed to get out before the fire spread.

Mayur Kapase was running a computer centre in the front portion of his house in the main market area. Around 3 am, a fire broke out in the house and quickly spread. However, the family managed to get out.

Firemen managed to douse the fire.

Anxious neighbours too rushed out and tried to put out the fire by throwing water. However, the Fire and Emergency Services personnel arrived from Khanapur later and put out the fire.

It is estimated that furniture, computers and other articles worth Rs 4 lakh were destroyed in the fire.
