KOLAR: An FIR has been registered against the vice-chancellor of the Bengaluru North University under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for caste abuse.

The FIR was filed at the Gulpet police station based on a private complaint filed before a local court by Manjunath, a guest lecturer at the department of journalism and mass communication. The guest lecturer had approached the court as no FIR had been filed even after he approached the police superintendent.

The complaint was filed by Manjunath, a guest lecturer.

According to Manjunath’s complaint, he has been working at the Bengaluru North University for the last seven years and several allegations were levelled against him despite there being no complaints.
