BENGALURU: A complaint has been lodged against a Kannada serial actress for allegedly blackmailing a 61-year-old woman by stealing her private videos, voice recordings and photos from the latter’s phone. The accused is Asha Jois and the complainant is Parvathi.
Asha Jois, a participant in Miss India Planet 2016 and a member of the Jois family of Sringeri Sharada Peetha, befriended Parvati three years ago and learned about her marriage to a company owner. Asha then allegedly tried to blackmail Parvathi’s husband for Rs 2 crore.
When Parvati refused, Asha allegedly stole her private data and sent it to people known to Parvati, damaging her reputation. Parvati has filed a complaint against Asha at the Tilak Nagar police station, alleging theft of her private data and blackmailing her.
