MYSURU: An FIR has been registered against a lecturer of a reputed college in Mysuru for allegedly sexually harassing an engineering student.
The accused, Bharat Bhargav, who was a lecturer at a prestigious engineering college, sexually harassed a female student of the same college. The student alleged that he would promise her more marks and help her to get a good job. He asked her to go to a pub with him and have fun.
She also said that when she complained about Bharat’s indecent behaviour to a female lecturer, he threatened her, spoke offensively about her private parts, and warned that he would fail her if she did not comply.
She therefore requested the police to take legal action against him. An FIR has been filed against the lecturer under BNS Sections 126(2), 75(2), 351(2), and further investigation is under way.
