BENGALURU: An FIR has been registered against Bande Mahakali temple chief priest Shashikumar for attempted murder under non-bailable sections, including Sections 140(3) (kidnapping) and 109 (attempt to murder).
The complaint was filed by Ramesh Babu, who alleged that a dispute over a temple pass led to a scuffle between him and Shashikumar on May 24 in Chamarajpet.
According to the complaint, 30-40 people, including Shashikumar’s supporters, arrived in a Toyota Fortuner, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and 12 bikes and assaulted Ramesh Babu.
Ramesh Babu alleged that he was threatened with murder and forced to sit on a bike, and when he shouted for help, he was taken to Kempagowda Nagar police station.
The priest, Shashikumar, has also lodged a counter complaint against Ramesh Babu, alleging that he was abused with foul language. Shashikumar filed the complaint at the Kempagowda Nagar police station.
