RAICHUR: Fed up of his younger brother’s love affair, a man climbed a mobile tower to commit suicide at Kumbara Oni in Manvi town of Raichur. Amjad Khan, who climbed the tower, spent about an hour on top before he was convinced to get down.
Amjad Khan’s brother Sohail Khan was in love with a woman from his own community. For many days, Sohail Khan was harassing the family to make arrangements to marry the woman he loved. It is also alleged that acquaintances and community members were harassing them regarding their marriage. Meanwhile, the couple had been missing for the past ten days.
Tired of their love affair, Amjad Khan climbed the tower to commit suicide. Locals rushed to the spot and tried to convince him, but he did not come down. Finally, the Manvi police arrived to the spot and convinced him to climb down from the tower.
