MADIKERI: Two people were injured after a man opened fire at his brother’s house over a property dispute, at Kavadi village in Virajpet taluk on Wednesday. The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Around 7 am on Wednesday, Appachu allegedly fired at his nephew Brijesh and his elder brother Rathan, who tried to intervene. Brijesh and Rathan sustained serious injuries to their legs and backs and are currently undergoing treatment at Virajpet Government Hospital.
According to reports, the dispute began when Appachu questioned Brijesh’s presence near his coffee plantation, leading to a heated argument. Appachu allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at Brijesh, prompting Rathan to intervene, resulting in both being injured.
The Virajpet Rural Police have taken Appachu and his son Amrit into custody and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
