BENGALURU: The state government has formed a high-level committee to study the pros and cons of bike taxi operations in the state. The tussle between the Transport Department and bike taxi drivers in the state continues, and the future of bike taxis will be decided in the High Court on September 22.

This committee, headed by the Secretary of the Transport Department, consists of 11 members, including the Commissioners of Urban Land Transport, Labour, Transport and Road Safety,  BMTC MD, Joint Commissioner of Police (traffic), senior representatives of BMRCL, Greater Bengaluru Authority and State Pollution Control Board.

The committee will submit a report to the government, which will then decide on the regulations for bike taxi operations in the state by September 22.
