Farmers’ leader Shantakumar airlifted from Patiala to Bengaluru after accident

BENGALURU: Farmers’ leader Kurubur Shantakumar, who was seriously injured in an accident near Patiala in Punjab, was airlifted to Bengaluru today. He has been admitted to Manipal hospital for treatment. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has wished Shantakumar a speedy recovery.

Shantakumar was injured in an accident three days ago and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Patiala. As soon as the Chief Minister was informed about the incident, he instructed officials to arrange for Shantakumar’s airlift to Bengaluru.

Delhi-based officer Imkongla Jamir was in constant touch with the Punjab government’s chief secretary and doctors at the Patiala hospital. Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, officials had arranged for an air ambulance on Saturday. Shantakumar was brought to Bengaluru today along with two attendants and a team of doctors.
