Farmers drive cow to deputy tahsildar’s office to protest Nandini-Amul ‘merger’

BELAGAVI: A group of farmers from Hirebagewadi in the taluk staged a unique protest against the alleged merger of Nandini and Amul, by driving a cow to the deputy tahsildar’s office where they submitted a memorandum, on Tuesday.

The farmers presented a memorandum at the deputy tahsildar’s office.

In the memorandum, they noted that Nandini is just not a brand, but the ‘Kamadhenu’ of the people of Karnataka. It is the Chief Minister’s responsibility ot ensure that the Nandini brand is protected and protected against competition from Amul, they noted.
