Farmers are waiting for motor pumpsets since three years in MLA Renukacharya constituency

DAVANAGERE: Honnali BJP MLA Renukacharya has been accused of playing politics in the distribution of pumpsets under the Ganga Kalyana scheme. It allegedly said that the beneficiaries have not got the pumpsets and pipes even three years after the borewells were sunk.

The farmers from Kuganahalli in Honnali, are now facing major problems as they have not been provided the pumpsets. The borewells were sunk by the Ambedkar Development Corporation under the Ganga Kalyans scheme in 2018-19. Power utility Mescom had made arrangements for providing power connection by installing transformers in 2020. The delay in the distribution of pumpsets, has now drawn the ire of farmers who are alleging that the MLA is playing with their lives.

If officials are questioned, they respond saying that that the MLA is not giving time for arranging programmes, the beneficiaries says. “We have been waiting for three years to plant crops and he is playing politics just for the sake of publicity,” some of the farmers charged.
