CHIKKBALLAPUR: Fans of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar took out a bike rally, ‘Gandhada Gudi- Ride for Appu’, on Sunday in memory of Appu, with a message on the need for raising awareness about environment protection among people.

The late actor’s wife Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar flagged off the motorbike and car rally from the Aranya Bhavan premises in Bengaluru. Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan and film director J S Amoghavarsha were present at the function. The rally culminated at Avalabetta, one among the popular trekking destinations around the city.

Minister Ashwath Narayan also joined the bike rally by wearing a T-shirt, with the words ‘Gandhada Gudi’ written on it and also enjoyed the bike ride with Appu fans.

He also tweeted that the docu-drama ‘Gandhadagudi’ has an excellent message of introducing the state’s natural wealth to the world, with the intention of cultivation and preservation of natural resources. Puneeth has expressed the relationship between mankind and love for nature. Appu’s life is a true inspiration to all, he noted.

Puneeth always had a special space in his heart for his fans. Hundreds of them were participated in the rally. Puneeth fans are also eagerly looking forward to the grand pre-release event ‘Puneetha Parva’, scheduled to be held at 6 pm on October 21 at Palace Grounds in the city.
