Family members, fans celebrate 50th birth anniversary of ‘Power Star’ Puneeth Rajkumar

'Power Star' Puneeth Rajkumar's 50th birth anniversary was celebrated by the famiy and fans on Monday.

BENGALURU: Fans of Sandalwood actor and ‘Power Star’ Puneeth Rajkumar, popular as Appu, began celebrating his 50th birth anniversary right from the stroke of midnight by bursting crackers, cutting cakes and raising slogans near his memorial at Kanteerava Studios.

The eager fans were hoping that they will be allowed at the memorial after midnight on Monday. But when they were not allowed inside till the family offered prayers, the fans began their celebrations outside itself. They also poured milk on a huge cutout of Puneeth Rajkumar outside Kanteerava Studios.

With the crowds increasing, the fans were allowed at the memorial from 6.45 am. Food distribution and blood donation camps were also organised while the memorial was brightly decorated with flowers along with his father Dr Rajkumar’s. Wheelchairs, notebooks, sarees and other items were also distributed.

Family members including Shivarajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and his wife Mangala, Yuva Rajkumar, and Puneeth’s two daughters offered prayers at the memorial. Family members including, Chenne Gowda, Anushri, Lakshmi, Govindaraju and Film Chamber president Narasimhalu and actors, Pratham and Srimurali were among those present.
