BENGALURU : It has passed two years since the demise of Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar, fondly called ‘Appu’, but his memory remains etched in everyone’s hearts. Appu’s family members offered pooja at his final resting place at Sri Kanteerava Studios and also offered his favorite dishes on Sunday.
Actor Puneeth Rajkumar was remembered on the day in various ways with fans sharing posters on social media. The pain of his death is still alive like today. Meanwhile, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Yuvraj Kumar and Ashwini Puneeth Raj Kumar and the children offered puja to his memorial and placed his favorite dishes.
Puneeth was laid to rest next to his father and legendary actor Dr Rajkumar’s memorial at Sri Kanteerava Studios. Fans remember Puneeth Rajkumar on his second death anniversary and paid tribute by organising food donation programme, blood and eye donation camps for the second year.
Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and Yuvraj Kumar served meals to the fans of Appu. The family, including Dhanya, Purnima, Appu’s daughter, and Raghavendra Rajkumar and his wife were present.
Actor Shivarajkumar, speaking to the media after paying tribute, said, “Appu has not gone anywhere; he is with us. I don’t want to come here often, I mean, I don’t want to send him away by doing puja here. It hurts me to come to Appu’s grave. Appu is always in our minds and thoughts. If something is said about him at home, it hurts a lot. Appu is watching us. Puneeth earned double the fame and name than our father. I feel very proud when I see the love and trust of his fans. We will keep up in our minds and hearts in the same way”.
Puneeth Rajkumar died on October 29, 2021 after suffering a heart attack. He was 46 years old.
