BENGALURU: The North East CEN (Cyber, Economic, and Narcotics) police have busted a fake website in the name of reputed packers and movers companies wherein people were duped after making them pay for transportation of goods that were never delivered.
A man approached one of the movers and packers to transport his two-wheeler from Bengaluru to Sagar. He made the booking through fake website. The two-wheeler was picked up after receiving Rs 1,000 as advance. After picking up the two-wheeler, they demanded Rs 8,000 for next-day delivery.
Police said that the delivery would be made through other packers and movers, where the consignee would be asked pay money on the spot again.
The owner of the bike complained to the North East CEN police. The police busted the scam and arrested Brahmadev Yadav, Mukesh Kumar Yadav and Vijay Kumar Yadav. One two-wheeler and four mobile phones were seized.
