Fake notes with face value of Rs 1.5 lakh seized from 2 migrant labourers in Adugodi

BENGALURU: Fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 1.5 lakh were seized from two migrant labourers, who hail from West Bengal, in Adugodi.

Suman and Gulal, who are masons, came to Bengaluru by the Guwahati Express train and found the fake currency notes of Rs 500 denomination worth Rs 1.5 lakh on the train.

The two contacted a person named Kumar and asked him to give them Rs 70,000 in exchange for the notes. However, when Kumar was counting the notes, he became suspicious and informed the Adugodi police. Upon investigation, the police found that the notes were counterfeit. The two individuals have been arrested by the Adugodi police.

Investigation has revealed that fake currency notes were being transported to various parts of the country through trains. A police team has been dispatched to West Bengal and other places to investigate the matter.
