BELAGAVI: A fake doctor, who had been arrested in an illegal abortion and child trafficking case, was showered with flower petals and given a grand welcome at Somwarpet in Kittur upon his release on bail on Friday.
Abdul Ladakhan had been arrested for child trafficking by the Malamaruti police. A separate case of foeticide has been registered against him at the Kittur police stations and he had admitted to it during questioning.
Following his admission, the remains of the foetuses were exhumed at his farm house at Tigadi in Kittur taluk in the presence of the assistant commissioner and district health officer.
