BELAGAVI: Miscreants have created a fake Instagram account in the name of IPS officer Dr Sanjiv Patil to extract money from gullible people.
The account claims that the IPS officer is DCP (West), Bengaluru and has his photograph. Dr Patil, now posted as Belagavi district SP, was earlier DCP (West) in Bengaluru.
The SP said action will be taken against those who have created the fake account. In a tweet, he also appealed to people to be wary of such accounts which are created to dupe them and to reject any demands for money.
