BENGALURU: The JD(S) rebel team has changed its national president and appointed C K Nanu to the post in the rebel faction. The disgruntled activists who were expelled from the JD(S) held a meeting at a private hotel near K J Halli in Bengaluru on Monday.

Later, former state president C M Ibrahim said, “Changing the national president was not my decision. It is the decision of the national council. Janata Party was built on the ideology of Jayaprakash Narayan. The appointment of the president of all states has been given to Nanu. A grand convention will be held in Hubballi in January. Rahul Gandhi will also be invited”, he said.

“Akhilesh Yadav and Nitish Kumar will also come. The ideal of many elders is our ideal. Even if ideologists die, their ideals will last forever. Some people are alive, but they seem to be like a lifeless body. They gave up their ideology at the age of 92.  Five MLAs are with us. Vajpayee called me to become a minister, but I didn’t go. I didn’t go when I was called to become a governor”, Ibrahim said.

“H D Deve Gowda had said the photos are of dead leaders photos, but the ideologies of Jayaprakash Narayan, Gandhiji and Ramakrishna Hegde are still alive though they are not in the world. We will show them. I would like to say that some are dead even though they are alive. For the sake of children, they have sacrificed ideology for two seats. We gave them three chances and finally, we removed him as president of the party and appointed C K Nanu”, Ibrahim added.
