Excise Department rakes in Rs 1,262 crore revenue in just nine days

BENGALURU:  The Excise Department has generated huge revenue in the last nine days, including Rs 181 crore on New Year’s Eve celebrations on Saturday.

The sale of liquor generated Rs 657 crore in revenue over the last nine days. From December 23 to December 31, 20.66 lakh litres of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) were sold. The total value of sale over the last nine days was Rs 1,262 crore.

The Excise Department has generated huge revenue in the last nine days, including Rs 181 crore on New Year’s Eve celebrations.

On December 27, 3.57 lakh litres of IMFL and 2.41 lakh litres of beer were sold and on December 28, 2.31 lakh litres of IMFL and 1.67 lakh litres of beer were sold. On December 29, 2.31 lakh litres of IMFL and 1.93 lakh litres of beer were sold. On December 30, 2.93 lakh litres of IMFL and 2.59 lakh litres of beer were sold. On December 31, 3.00 lakh litres of IMFL and 2.41 lakh litres of beer were sold.
