BENGALURU: A potential disaster was averted on the highway when an excavator crashed into a Maruti WagonR car after its brakes failed near Jindal in Dobbspet in Nelamangala taluk on Tuesday evening.
The excavator, which was travelling on the highway, lost control and hit a WagonR car in front of it. The car was pushed forward, but fortunately, both vehicles steered to the side of the road, avoiding a major accident.
Due to presence of mind, a major disaster was prevented, and the occupants of the car escaped unharmed. The excavator, however, fell into a ditch near the roadside and was later extracted with the help of a crane.
A case has been registered at the Nelamangala traffic police station.
