HASSAN: An eve-teaser was thrashed by locals for allegedly harassing a college student near the BSNL Bhavan here on Tuesday and handed over to the police.
The student is a resident of Arasikere and is a student of a college in Hassan. The accused Yashwant is a resident of Kiragadalu village in Alur taluk. He used to tease the girl every day when she went to college. Though she had warned him several times, but he did not pay heed.
On Tuesday, the girl alleged that the accused tugged at her hand while she was returning from college with her friends. The angry girl beat him up with her footwear on the street. Locals who were gathered there, took him to task and thrashed him.
The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the women’s police station.
