DAVANAGERE: An engineer from Haraganhalli in Harihar taluk has been duped of Rs 16.75 lakh in an online investment scam. The police are now on the lookout for the fraudster.
The engineer was introduced to a person on Telegram, who promised him high returns on investments in trading. Initially, the scammer gave him good returns on his investment, prompting him to invest more.
However, when he invested Rs 16.75 lakh, he didn’t receive any returns, leading him to realise that he had been cheated. The engineer has filed a complaint with the Davangere CEN police station, and the police have registered a case.
