BENGALURU: The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department has planned to deliver prasada to the people of the state at their doorstep by adopting new technology. Online service and booking service are already in effect.
Now, plans are being made to door-deliver prasada from all temples that come under the department. If devotees book online, the prasada from any temple across Karnataka will be delivered to their doorstep.
The department is discussing with the postal department and private companies to implement this plan and is working on fixing the price of prasada and delivery charges. Officers have discussed with the minister concerned and it will implemented soon.
With this scheme, people can receive prasada from a temple of their choice without any hassle. Endowment department Commissioner Venkatesh said, “We have already discussed delivering prasada to doorsteps through online booking, common service centres. We are discussing pros and cons of the plan. It covers 36,000 temples across the state. We are also assessing the infrastructure at temples. Once we discuss with the minister, it will be implemented at the earliest possible”.
